5% per side. That’s it.
No subscriptions. No setup fees. No surprise charges. You only pay when a load gets done right.
Taken from your bid total. No fee if you don’t win the bid. No fee if the job is canceled before dispatch.
Added to the bid total at checkout. Posting jobs is free. You only pay when a driver actually shows up and finishes the haul.
A worked example
Numbers, not buzzwords. Here’s exactly what flows where on a $400 haul.
| Contractor pays at checkout | $420.00 |
| — Driver’s bid | $400.00 |
| — Contractor 5% fee | $20.00 |
| Held in escrow until job complete | |
| Driver receives | $380.00 |
| — Bid amount | $400.00 |
| — Driver 5% fee | −$20.00 |
| HaulBid platform revenue | $40.00 |
Stripe processing fees (2.9% + 30¢) are deducted from the platform’s portion, not the driver’s.
Pricing FAQ
Are there any other fees?
No. No subscriptions, no setup costs, no listing fees, no withdrawal fees. The 5% per side is the entire cost.
When do drivers actually get paid?
Once the contractor confirms the load is complete, funds release from escrow and Stripe initiates a payout. ACH usually lands in 1–2 business days. Same-day instant payouts are coming after launch (1% extra fee, optional).
What happens if the contractor doesn’t release the funds?
Funds auto-release 48 hours after the driver marks the job complete and uploads dump tickets, unless the contractor opens a dispute. Disputes are reviewed by HaulBid using the in-app evidence (photos, GPS, timestamps).
What’s the founding-25 promo, exactly?
The first 25 drivers and first 25 contractors to sign up via the waitlist pay 0% platform fee on every job for the first 90 days after we go live. After 90 days, standard 5%/5% kicks in. You still pay Stripe processing fees during the promo (those go to Stripe, not us).
Will pricing change after launch?
We’re committing to 5% per side through 2026 and into 2027. If we ever change it, founding-25 members get the original rate locked in for life.
Is HaulBid an employer? Are drivers W-2?
No. Drivers are independent contractors. HaulBid is a marketplace, not an employer. Drivers receive a 1099 at year end summarizing all earnings on the platform.
